MUD DAY IS ALMOST let's get messy!

We spend so much of our time keeping everything clean - from our homes, to our cars, to our workspaces, to our kids! What a great opportunity to let go and get messy. That’s what International Mud Day is all about! Taking time from our busy lives to explore the sensory landscape that the earth has to offer. Mud has so much going for it, that’s why getting a mud bath at a spa is such a popular treat! It’s proven that the minerals in mud have beauty benefits, not to mention that coming into contact with bacteria boosts our immune system. Most importantly though, playing in mud is just downright FUN!

Ever seen an unhappy child playing in mud? Offering children the chance to get messy opens a gateway of growth and learning opportunities that enhances creative, imaginative and sensitive faculties. The carefree fun, the laughter, the grounding feeling of mud between your toes and that smell of earth in your hair - what a lovely excuse to get outside for some fresh air and family time.

You only need 3 things to celebrate Mud Day - dirt, water and friends. So no matter where you live in the world, you can join in the fun. International Mud Day is this Friday June 29. Now, who wants to make some mud pies?!

If you would like more information about the fun and benefits of Risky Play, our Founder and Outdoor Educator Lukas speaks around Australia at various childcare centres and conferences. You can even book him to talk at your centre! We are always open to discussion and opportunities surrounding the development of children. Please feel free to reach out, we would love to hear from you:
