1. United Church Child Care, Gympie.

Finding the best company took a bit of research & time. With all the promptly returned phone calls & visits from Lukas, as well as the quality of sample materials & designs that he provided, it was clear that this was the company we were to use. Lukas & his company certainly came up with well above what we expected. He worked in partnership with the educators & children to ensure that all of their requests/needs were met.

Lukas is very passionate about sustainability & this became obvious from the beginning with his designs, use of local business, recycling of EVERYTHING & constantly sharing his knowledge. Throughout construction he engaged the children wherever possible to give them ownership of their new playground.

“Thank you, Lukas & your team, for creating our unique & beautiful playground enriched with everything a child (& Educator) could want.”

2. Amaze Education, Ormeau and Gaven.

I met Lukas Ritson at a seminar he was presenting about sustainability. Immediately, I was blown away by his energy, magnetism and knowledge. It really helped that his philosophies on early childhood education were very similar to ours at Amaze.

We were currently looking at putting in a new playground at a childcare centre that was being built. We had had quotes from other well-known suppliers but they were not only very pricey, they were boring, less natural, and very similar to a lot of other centres around us. There didn’t seem to be the understanding of our need to personalise the design to suit our community, the area allocated and incorporate our ideas.

Lukas was a breath of fresh air. He listened, added suggestions, and listened some more. When he presented the design, we saw he had been meticulous about every detail. He had incorporated play philosophy, and explained how every element linked together. He had thought of everything from the type of wood and plants, sustainability, and the ability to make the elements multi-purpose thus alleviating boredom.

The design was so good we featured on channels 7, 9 and 10, two radio shows and current affairs show The Project. This of course was extremely beneficial to market the centre.

One of the unique benefits of working with Lukas is that he was originally an Outdoor Educator, so he knows first-hand the requirements and regulations, as well as experienced how children interact with different elements.

The installation was very painless, all the crew from Own Grown Organics worked seamlessly together to bring our play spaces to life. As an owner, it was a relief not to worry about project management.

At the end, the playground came in both on time and within budget. However, Lukas’s services didn’t stop there. At Own Grown Organics they also offer an after care program which includes training staff and information sessions for the parents.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lukas or Own Grown Organics for any job big or small. They are currently constructing an even bigger and better playground at our newest centre being built.

3. Edible Landscapes.

Lukas & his team are fantastic to deal with. As first time growers we have a steep learning curve. Lukas established our raised tiered garden beds. He incorporated the mediterranean theme I wanted in the design of the project. We are now balancing the crop & ensuring a good range of produce - a wonderful work in progress. Lukas has tremendous enthusiasm for his work ... I use the term ‘work’ loosely as I think this is more of a life’s project than work for Lukas & Melissa - a holistic approach. He even shares his recipes! I am really looking forward to the next stages. Lukas regularly shares his vision with us & it sounds sensational. I think we’ve made the right choice.

I’ve just been out in the garden this morning, like every morning and afternoon. Everything is kicking along - we’ve picked a few tomatoes, the spinach is getting bigger and the tiny little celery plants are standing proud of the mulch now. The lettuce is powering on! We are really pleased with all the work you’ve done and are looking forward to eating more and more produce from our own little patch of Earth. I have learnt a lot, and so has Wade, from watching you prepare our garden. It’s a very important part, for me, of the sustainable lifestyle I want to live with Wade and Ryan and Steve.
