This session explores the reciprocal relationship between environment and child development. When designed with intention, outdoor spaces become living ecosystems for growth, belonging, and emotional regulation. The talk provides actionable steps for educators to transform outdoor environments into responsive learning communities.

About the conference

The ECTA Early Childhood Conference offers two participation streams: online and onsite. Exhibitors, presenters, and attendees connect in person, while attendees may also choose to participate virtually.

The conference delivers practical, evidence‑informed workshops for professionals across all early childhood sectors, including FDC, OSHC, LDC, Kindy, Prep, and lower primary. It has been held annually on the first Saturday of the Queensland state school holidays since 1975.

All attendees, both online and onsite, receive post‑event access to all online session recordings.

Each presentation is aligned with Kindy Uplift Priority Areas, the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, and relevant NQF Standards.

Online: via ZOOM
