Kindy Uplift Professional Development for QLD Kindergartens
A moving body is a learning mind.
A day in your own yard with your educators, and a co-created plan they walk away with. Designed for Queensland kindergartens using their Physicality funding in 2026.

Why does outdoor play matter for kindy outcomes?
Children are arriving at kindy with less physical literacy, outdoor environments have not always kept pace, and educator confidence in supervising risky play has taken a hit. That is exactly the gap the Physicality priority area of Kindy Uplift exists to close — and exactly where the Playspace Uplift Program lives.
Long before a child holds a pencil, they hang from a branch. Balancing, climbing, rolling, digging and carrying are not breaks from learning; they are the learning. Every wobble and reach builds the strength, coordination and sensory foundations a young brain needs for focus, regulation, confidence and connection.
What does the Playspace Uplift Program include?
Two simple parts. A day in your own yard with your educators, then a plan your team co-creates with us and owns from there. We keep it light on purpose — every kindy is different, and the rest is best shaped on a call.
- 01
On-site PD workshop
A half or full day during service hours, in your own yard. The morning builds hearts and minds — the developmental case for movement, healthy risk and sensory play. The afternoon is boots on grass: educators audit their playspace using Wearthy's play-value framework.
- 02
Co-created playspace plan
The educators' findings, shaped into a staged plan they own: no-cost practice and layout changes for Monday, resource enhancements that build on the learning, and bigger dreams mapped to other funding sources.
Is this in-scope for Kindy Uplift funding?
Yes. It is professional development for the Physicality priority area, with genuine reach into Executive Function and Social and Emotional Learning. Backfill and educator remuneration for attendance are also in-scope uses of Kindy Uplift funding.
- Capability building, not capital works. This is professional development — designed for the in-scope use of Kindy Uplift funding, not a design consultancy.
- Priority areas covered. Physicality first, with reach into Executive Function (persistence, problem solving, healthy risk-taking) and Social and Emotional Learning (the confidence that grows when children direct their own play).
- Built for practice change. Multi-touchpoint delivery with a follow-up embedding session, because one-off PD rarely sticks.
- You choose your provider. The Queensland Department of Education does not maintain an approved supplier list — services pick their own. We welcome your due diligence and share Blue Card and insurance documentation on request.
Why choose Wearthy as your Kindy Uplift PD provider?
For more than 14 years and across 200+ playgrounds, Wearthy has advocated for the kind of childhood that is climbed, balanced and wondered through. We bring that experience — and the proprietary Ecology of Play™ framework drawn from it — into every kindy yard we visit.
